Pattaya Beach, Thailand has some of the finest Internationally designed golf
courses in Asia.
Courses designed by such greats of the game as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Gary
Player & Peter Thompson to mention but a few.

Bangpra International Golf Club.

Set amongst Sriracha's jungle covered hills, the
Bangpra International Golf Club may only be located 80 minutes from the hustle
and bustle of Bangkok, but sure leaves the golfer really feeling at one with
nature. With natural hazards such as trees, ponds and lakes flanking many of the
fast greens the course offers spectacular, yet often difficult, holes in a truly
environmentally-friendly setting. Although originally opened in 1958, this
course had its first nine completely redesigned in 1987 to incorporate more
water hazards. The back nine may now lack the front's fine array of water
hazards, but more than make up for it with its challenging dog-leg holes that
meander up and down the hill.
The Bangpra Resort Hotel stands nearby, offering luxurious and plush
accommodation.
Designer: Japan Golf Promotion Co., Ltd.
Open: 1987.

Burapha
Golf Club.

Burapha was a Private
Members Golf Club that has recently been opened to the public.. The East Course
features wide fairways and is perfect for the up & coming golfer. The West
Course is a challenge for the more advanced golfer. The course is
well-maintained and the holes are well-placed over the hilly terrain. Members
and guests can enjoy their golf in a very serene and quiet setting. The clubhouse serves
good food, in pleasant surroundings including a large swimming pool.
Designer: David Graham and Gary Panks.
Open: 1995

Chonbury
Century Country Club.

Chonburi Century Country Club is a
golf course with 18 holes and the golf course is developed on a hilly country.
It is located about the distance of 35 minutes drive from the exit of Bangkok-Chonburi
Motorway at Chonburi. Not so many people come to play even on weekends and
holidays, then beginners can also enjoy to play at ease.
Designer: Robert Macfarland. Open:

 Eastern Star
Golf Course.
The excellent 18 - hole
Links-style course at Eastern Star was designed and built by Robert Trent Jones
Jr., one of the foremost international designers of Championship golf courses.
Playing to a par 72 over 7,134 yards from the blue tees, and set among 530 acres
(1400 rai) of a former coconut plantation. The course is usually in excellent
condition offering plenty of challenge for experience golfers, but also offers
solid enjoyment for beginners. Eastern Star also offers superb
accommodation and conference facilities - golf villas and apartments are also
available for lease or sale.
Designer: Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Open: 1992.

Great Lake Golf & Country Club.

Situated on the magnificent
Dok Krai reservoir's banks, the Nick Faldo designed Great Lake Golf & Country
Club is truly magnificent. However, although the club could have easily relied
on Dok Krai's water for its natural hazards. Faldo has also incorporated an
astonishing 120 bunkers into its design - - eleven of which can be found along
the par-four 18th, the course's most famous hole. Using the gentle rolling
terrain to great effect, Nick has created a natural course that blends in with
the surrounding areas. Each hole offers a challenge to the professional and the
beginners alike. With good game plan, the properly placed shot will reward you
but an errant shot will find in one of the 120 strategically placed bunkers, six
irrigation lakes or in some of the native grass area that border the rough.
Whatever your score is, the course will have tested all of your skill.
Clubhouse and local hotel facilities are
of the usual very high standard. There are 100 units of high standard condotel
surrounding the courses.
Designer: Nick Faldo Open:
1995.

Khao Kheow Country Club.

This 27-hole
golf course is situated along route 36 heading towards Pattaya and takes about
80 minutes to reach from central Bangkok. Like so many of the Eastern Seaboard's
courses the Khao Kheow Country club catches a strong sea breeze thus players
have to plan their shots carefully on account of the numerous large ponds,
bunkers and hills that surround the greens and fairways. The course really has
something for everyone. In particular, watch out for the par-three seventeen,
it's a killer for both amateurs and professionals and relies on the golfer
having a certain amount of luck on his/her side. The first 18 have been designed
with a stadium championship course, while the back 18 are definitely more geared
towards a resort course. Those daring enough to do the whole lot in one day can
look forward to relaxing at the lush clubhouse afterwards, which incorporates a
sports club, swimming pools, hotel accommodation and tennis courts in its
design.
Designer: Dye Design Inc. USA.
Open: 1992.

Laem Chabang International Country Club.

This handiwork of golf guru
is widely hailed by critics for a unique feature, its beautifully mixed terrain
of majestic mountains, beautiful lakes and lush valleys which are lovely as well
as functional. Each type of terrain corresponds to a 9-hole course in a peculiar
way, and as such one is named Mountain, Lake and Valley. The large, undulating
greens are mostly elevated and protected by wide bunkers. Truly a course with a
difference
This picturesque Jack Nicklaus designed
championship course is truly one of Thailand's finest. The 27-hole - - Mountain,
Lake and Creek nines - - Laem Chabang International Country Club is located in
Sri Racha, approximately two hours away form Bangkok and is well worth the
visit. The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside have been used to great
effect, and hazards to stop you reaching the large elevated greens are in
abundance. Not only does the course have a lot of bunkers, sand traps and water
hazards, there is also a lot of natural hazards in the shape of exposed rock
formations, lakes, ponds and creeks. Excellent clubhouse facilities and
accommodation superbly complement all of this.
Designer: Jack Niclaus Open:
1993.

Legacy Crystal Bay Golf Club.

The
fifteen-year-old, 27-hole Natural Park Resort Golf Club lies approximately 80
minutes drive from Bangkok. Although the design is somewhat uninspiring, the
course has recently been improved by the addition of a lot of palm trees, thus
giving it the appearance of a Hawaiian links. Water fringes the course on all
sides and the No. 3 dog leg and No. 8 island hole are particularly interesting
and enjoyable. The clubhouse facilities are excellent.
Japanese designed and opened in
1988. The course is beautifully laid out and a trying test to one's game. It is
a mixture of styled fairways in the American tradition with an occasion
link-type fairway in the British manner. Water is omnipresent, mostly bordering
fairways though some waterways do require a carry over water onto the green.
Bunkers play an integral role in determining play, making precision shots
imperative.

Legacy Mountain
Shadow Golf
Club.
Built on a former mango plantation this
beautiful Ronald Fream designed course has tropical foliage that creates the
perfect surroundings for each hole. The par-five 6th and 14th both have the
greens tucked behind huge water hazards and the dog-leg approach make the holes
even more exacting. Two of the par-three holes require the player to hit a water
carry to island greens. There are pleasant views of the course from the
clubhouse which provides many amenities. Natural Park Hills is up amongst the
great courses in Thailand, and one of the most challenging 18 holes on the
Eastern Seaboard Region. Plenty of water and narrow fairways makes this course
a true test of your golfing skills.
It is a low handicapper's favorite.

Noble Place Golf Course & Country Club.

The Noble Place Golf Course & Country Club rises up to meet you like a fauna
covered lunar landscape amongst the tree lined hills of Chonburi. Designed by
Dennis Wolveridge and Peter Thompson, the course is full of tricky bunkers
making this is a thinking man's course.. Although the designers didn't include
much water in the course design, they have more than made up for it with masses
of sand and through clever use of reeds and heavy rough. Palm-tree-lined
fairways tend to be undulating, as do the greens. The resulting course is
definitely one of the best in the Pattaya area and superbly complemented by a
very good hotel and accommodation service.

Pattaya Country Club.
The Precious location conveniently located in the heartland of Eastern Seaboard.
A masterpiece for all golf enthusiasts, the 18 holes par 72 course was designed
by renown PGA ( Thailand ) golf course designer, Mr. Peter Rehn. The fairways
consist of single and double types with several crystal lakes. While playing the
lush green fairways amidst clean fresh air, golfers will enjoy the scenic
background of beautiful rolling-hills nature.

Phoenix Golf & Country Club.
The developer's choice of the site was excellent - beautiful undulating
hillside country, with an existing cover of varied eucalyptuses, mature bamboo
and low shrubbery. The course is quite elevated, with attractive distant sea
hill views. It usually has cooling breezes off the sea.
The massive clubhouse is a cavernous marble confection with internal pools and
cascading waterfalls dominating the landscape.Beautifully landscaped with
eucalyptus, bamboo and bushes, the Phoenix Golf and Country Club utilizes
wooded,
rolling terrain on its three nines - - Ocean, Lake and Mountain.
Although fairways are narrow,
the greens are most spacious and the middle nine is one of the most playable in
the kingdom due to its large amount of water hazards. Hole 17 - - a very tough
par-four - - dog-legs around the lake and has left some of Asia's most
experienced golfers in serious trouble. Excellent clubhouse utilities and a
sports complex make this one of the best courses on the Eastern Seaboard.

Plutaluang Royal Thai Navy.

Set amongst Chonburi's hilly
peaks, the Plutaluang Golf Club is one of the oldest and most natural courses in
the country. Designed long before the fad for employing professional golfers to
design courses became the par, this Royal Thai Navy-designed course utilizes
mother nature to its best effect. Hills are the name of the game here, leaving
scenic features bordering on a huge lake at every turn. Although both courses
are fairly taxing, a rope lift helps weary golfers back to the clubhouse after
their game.

Rayong Century Country Club.
Desmond Muirhead and
Nick Faldo have a stunning natural palette from which to create Century. Many
attractive holes with rolling fairways and various kinds of bunkers offer
challenging and exciting golf.
A tropical paradise of rivers,
canyons mountains, lakes and trees, the landscape lends itself perfectly to a
Century Club with 18 hole golf course integrated into a well planned community.

Rayong Green Valley Country Club.

Located on route three
between Sattahip and Rayong near Ban Chang town, this intelligent, beautifully
landscaped course is lodged on the side of a hill and thus takes its features
from the large rocky outcrops, boulders and native fauna that are featured in
the local terrain. Bunkers have been used very intelligently, inviting a good
golfer to go for the drive over them while the (experienced) lesser player has
plenty of room to lay up. The Rayong Green Valley complex also incorporates a
large fine clubhouse, equestrian track and a polo club.

Siam Country Club.

Set behind
Pattaya in low hills, the Siam Country Club is one of Thailand's finest and most
difficult courses. Designed by I. Izumi 32 years ago, the course has played host
to international tournaments on many occasions and has been wonderfully
landscaped to contain more than its fair share of shrubs and plants. Although
the fairways are slightly narrow, this should be of no difficulty to the long
drivers amongst you. But even if you are to hit hazard after hazard, be prepared
for the last four holes. They are some of the most dramatic within the region.
This is indisputably
one of the finest and most difficult courses in Thailand situated just 10 kms.
from Pattaya. At just over 7,000 yard with a par 72 its up and down layout,
blown by the Gulf of Siam's winds poses a real test of golf. Its holes slope
past a series of lakes, creeks and strategically situated mature trees which
can block out an ill-placed shot on seemingly generous fairways. Various fruit
trees on the course give one the impression of being in an orchard, especially
when in season. The grainy greens with subtle breaks require the assistance of
the lively experienced caddies to guarantee a memorable round of golf. Look
out too for the abundant wildlife' in the form of sculptured bushes and
hedgerows, a feature unique to Siam Country Club.

Soi Dao Highlands Resort.

Embraced by the majestic Soi Dao reange just 46 kilometres from Chanthaburi
town, this world-class, 18-hole golf course is designed by
internationally-acclaimed Denis Griffiths from Atlanta, USA. The course meanders
through slopes and dales, providing new challenges and pleasant surprises for
golfer of all levels. The Soi Dao Highland Resort is a luxury hotel with a full
range of modern facilities and amenities.

Sriracha International Golf Club.

This course has been designed amidst lush rolling hills and spectacular
seascape. The terrain has a natural splendor with abundance of tall broadleaf
trees and tropical vegetation fringing the fairways and greens. The golf is
challenging but once clear of the 18th green a luxurious clubhouse awaits with
excellent amenities. Venue for the Thai Open in 1996 and 1997. Lovely.
Designed by Gary Player and located in the
hilly, beautiful countryside of Sri Racha, the eight-year-old Sriracha
International Golf Club is relatively short course with a lot of par-fours. The
layout carefully utilises the natural landscape to best effect, leaving a lot of
up and downhill fairway lies.

St. Andrews 2000.
Working with a spectacular, undulating
natural topography, St. Andrews 2000 was built to replicate the wind-swept
Scottish links courses, offering an uncompromising challenge aimed at players
with handicaps of 18 or lower. Opened at the dawn of the Pacific Century, this
course will soon become known as one of Asia's true championship courses.
Desmond Muirhead created a full 18 holes, 74 par of memorable golf, featuring
elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split elevation fairways, huge
putting surfaces and two par 6's.

Treasure Hill Golf & Country Club.
Treasure Hill Golf & Country
Club is a golf course with 18 holes and operated as a membership golf course. It
is located at the distance of 40 km from Chonburi and it takes about 90 minutes
from Bangkok by car. The golf course is developed on a hill side and offers a
challenging and exciting golf on rolling fairways.
